Your guests will start the day with a hot breakfast buffet. Bright and airy, with a laid-back atmosphere and a wide selection of food that caters to a variety of dietary needs, Louden Kitchen & Grill is the perfect start to the morning. The Louden Kitchen and Grill offers a range of hot dishes with eggs cooked to order. Located on the 1st floor of Mercure Welcome Melbourne, this space can also used for catering breaks.
Mercure Welcome Melbourne is committed to ESG practices throughout all areas of the hotel, reflecting our commitment to minimising impact on the environment whilst not comprising guest experiences. The following are initiatives currently in place:
Go Green Program
Our bed linen and towel reuse program extends the interval of changing linen and towels from once a day to every three days. While guests still have the option to request daily linen and towel changes, our default practice of reducing the frequency of service during a guests stay presents a valuable opportunity to reduce both water and energy consumption.
Single use plastics have been removed from the hotel with the following in place:
- Amenities – full sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles have replaced individual packs are now 100% waste free
- Bamboo guest keys have replaced the traditional plastic room key cards.
Recycling initiatives include:
- Back of house recycling bins in offices and common areas
Energy efficiencies include installation of LED lighting and motion sensors reducing energy consumption and key card operated power in rooms. Variable speed drives have been installed matching energy supply to demand, reducing overall energy consumption.
Paper waste management initiatives include:
- All hotel compendiums in guest rooms are now digitised, accessible through Smart TV’s
- E-Invoicing with suppliers reduces printed invoicing
- Software systems which reduce operational printing for Meetings & Events in place reducing requirement to print by 90%
Water conversation supported through efficient shower heads in all guest bathrooms.
Cleaning products are sourced which have minimum impact on the environment.
